3 out of 5 stars Fun toy   December 15, 2008
This is a great toy for those babies that are on the verge of crawing and having some tummy time, they can reach out and swat at the keys.

However I am surprised to see it list for almost [...] on amazon when I can get it at walmart for [...]!!!! What gives????

1 out of 5 stars pain   November 17, 2008
the few notes this thing makes over and over and over will have you crawling up the wall real quick.

2 out of 5 stars Safety concerns but it is a great toy with direct nonstop supervision   November 11, 2008
My twin 1 year old grandsons like this toy a lot. The colors intrigue them, the means to make music is simple with the spinning the wheel, the sound volume is not overwhelming (thank you on that one Fisher-Price).

I would give it a five, but the edge along the back of the toy is MUCH SHARPER than I would like. If struck hard enough would leave a nasty bruise, I fear it could even cause a cut if in a boney area like the forehead. I'm used to FP toys to be safe without having to have nonstop view of what the boys are doing, this one if I take my eye off it for a few seconds they have it upside down exposing that sharp edge. Needless to say the boys don't get a lot of time with this toy.

We have lots of other FP items, in the 40 years I can remember dealing with FP I don't remember a safety concern with appropriate use with any other toy. A little bit of rounding that edge or using a softer plastic for the back would take care of this concern. I hope FP will improve this so check it out if you are in the market for such a toy.

2 out of 5 stars Expected more   October 20, 2008
I wish Amazon had put the age groups that this was intended for. This is actually for a 3 month old and I was looking for 6+ months.
It took 8 days to come from Phil. Pa to Dover,De (about 120 miles). The USPS is SLOW.

2 out of 5 stars OK, but the notes chosen are annoying!   October 12, 2008
I bought this for my son who is still a little too young for this (He'll be 5 months this week). When looking for entertainment, I grab it sometimes and play a few little songs on it for him. He likes to listen sometimes. So far he only spins the spinners with his feet and not his hands (how he figured that out I don't know!).

The thing that kills me on this and the reason I only gave it 2 stars is that whoever designed this must not have been a musical person. I am a music teacher so this is really irritating to hear--the notes from left to right on the toy are F, G, A, B, C. The B should be a B-flat for a proper scale. When you play the notes in order the B natural (yellow) just sounds terrible b/c it does not belong in that scale. My friends are joking and probably rightly so that my son is going to grow up with a funky musical scale in his head and think it's correct. I think the only things I could play on this were Hot Cross Buns, Mary Had a Little Lamb and the theme from Dvorak's New World Symphony. If they had made that a B-flat instead of B natural then we'd have endless possibilities!
