Product Description
When you loved the one who was killing you, it left you no options. How could you run, how could you fight, when doing so would hurt that beloved one? If your life was all you had to give, how could you not give it? If it was someone you truly loved?

To be irrevocably in love with a vampire is both fantasy and nightmare woven into a dangerously heightened reality for Bella Swan. Pulled in one direction by her intense passion for Edward Cullen, and in another by her profound connection to werewolf Jacob Black, a tumultuous year of temptation, loss, and strife have led her to the ultimate turning point. Her imminent choice to either join the dark but seductive world of immortals or to pursue a fully human life has become the thread from which the fates of two tribes hangs.

Now that Bella has made her decision, a startling chain of unprecedented events is about to unfold with potentially devastating, and unfathomable, consequences. Just when the frayed strands of Bella's life-first discovered in Twilight, then scattered and torn in New Moon and Eclipse-seem ready to heal and knit together, could they be destroyed... forever?

The astonishing, breathlessly anticipated conclusion to the Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn illuminates the secrets and mysteries of this spellbinding romantic epic that has entranced millions.

1 out of 5 stars A guilty pleasure turned horribly wrong   August 29, 2008

For books who have always been a guilty pleasure, the anticipation of the release of this book was better than actually reading it. Bella's inability to grow as a character (figuratively and literally)was one of the most painful disappointments in the book. Her lack of growth because more obvious everytime her mother, Renee, always loves to tell her, "You've always been an old soul. Older than your age," to paraphase. Unfortunately, I guess what was meant by "old soul" didn't mean a late adolescent with fully formed complexicities and depth. Instead, Bella must have been as mature as self-centered Hollywood starlet maybe five years older than her actual age. Bella continues to be whiny and clingy as she was in the first. Her lack of growth and concern for others echoes perfectly in the culture we live in today, but does not make it right. Bella's concerns rarely are about others, it's about what Bella wants, Bella gets. No sacrifice is made by her part, everything falls into place.

Beyond the terrible character growth, the ending itself is weak as the rest of the story. The ending is a huge let down to the anticipation of an actual fight, a dramatic change in structure in the "vampire" world. What instead happens is a whimper, no change, no weakening, nothing.

I read the book in about a day and returned it to get my money back. I have no plans to keep this book permanently in my collection or kindle. Now, if only someone could reimburse me for lost time.

5 out of 5 stars Great ending to a wonderful series....   August 29, 2008

I LOVED this book - wonderful story and despite what others have written, a great ending. I re-read the ending twice. I really liked the infusion of the different characters and how Ms. Meyer tied it up in the end. My only (and very big) regret is the series has apparently ended making this, in a way, a sad book. I don't want the story to end. I can see so much possibility for continuance of the story expanding it to include future events and other characters. I am pleased that Hollywood is making a movie of the first book - let us hope they continue to keep making movies of the rest of the books. This is a wonderful love story that should be told. Thank you Ms.Meyer! Another great book.

5 out of 5 stars Possibly the best in the Twilight series   August 29, 2008

I loved this book and if you are a fan of her other three books in this series then you will love the fourth edition. Excellently written and very captivating! If you haven't yet read the Twilight books you had better hurry up! You are missing out.

3 out of 5 stars not her best book, sorry   August 29, 2008

I highly anticipated this release, it just wasn't worth the wait. What in the heck happened to her characters?? Edward was a whiny mess. I adored him in the other books, this one not so much. And I just couldn't wrap my head around the whole (spoilers, sorry) emergeny c section in the house thing.
Eclipse was far far better book, sorry.

1 out of 5 stars horrible   August 29, 2008

It was quite simply the worst book I've ever read. Not worth buying whatsoever. The last 3 Twilight books were okay but this was just horrible. It consisted of things that could never in a million years happen (even for vampires) and was so boring (read: happily happy happily ever after oh joy!) I think I might have fallen asleep once or twice while reading it.
