Product Description
Finally—A Pregnancy Book That Won't Put Men to Sleep
My Boys Can Swim! tells real men everything they really want to know about pregnancy, such as: How much is it going to cost? Why does your wife primp before seeing her doctor when she hasn't put a stitch of make-up on for you in months? And, most important, what's it going to do to your sex life?
This rollicking, laugh-out-loud book is for expectant dads in search of bottom-line pregnancy information, without all that boring touchy-feely stuff you find in those books written for women. Inside you'll discover helpful—and hilarious—information and insights on such topics as:
The Maternity Wardrobe: "A key part of the maternity wardrobe is maternity underwear—parachute-like undies big enough to fit an NFL defensive lineman."
Baby Names: "Don't give your kids mockable names like Thaddeus, which is Greek for 'I'm a dork and should be beaten up.'"
The Birth: "No one told me it's normal that babies' heads can be misshapen at birth. I was convinced that my wife gave birth to Veldar, the conehead."

1 out of 5 stars Not informative, not funny   February 15, 2010
J. Bonito

There is nothing informative or at all funny about this book. Basically, it's like someone allowed that guy in the office who thinks he's funny to write down what he would say if he were to do a stand-up comedy routine on pregnancy. All of the "jokes" and premises are actually just rip-offs of something he saw on TV, and he only selected the unfunny stuff to very poorly reproduce.

Save your money, save your time.

5 out of 5 stars Great Book   February 9, 2010
Carmen Giambrone (Huntington Beach, CA)
This is Carmen's satifeid fiance.
Finally a book made for the men instead of the women. I'm sorry ladies but there is plenty of books out there for you but there is next to none for us guys. My fiance bought this book for me and didn't even tell me about it. When she handed it to me I was like what is this? But then I started reading it and I couldn't put it down i finished reading it in about half a day. This book is not a long but it has everything in it that a guy needs to know and it's just long enough for us to keep us into it. I would advise this to any male even if you don't like to read because of these facts. And it's a great little book to take with you when you need to go to the restroom or when your just sitting around with nothing to do. Females if your looking for a book to buy for your partner in this journey this is it and guys don't be afraid to buy this one you will not regret it.

2 out of 5 stars A bound, uneducated blog   February 3, 2010
K. Phelps
There's not a lot of meat to this book. It's a quick read, but dads-to-be are not going to get much out of it. It's basically a blog--the author has simply written about his observations during his wife's pregnancy. It's strictly "here's what happened with my wife ..." and sometimes, but not always acknowledges that some traits are case-by-case. And how did his publisher get away with having him print things like "I don't know why [xxx] happens ...?" Do a bit of research and give the answer rather than go to print with admitted ignorance in a book that is supposed to give advice.

4 out of 5 stars A Great Way to Laugh Together   January 21, 2010

I can definitely understand why many people find themselves extremely dissatisfied with this book especially if it was purchased online without the opportunity to take a peek inside.

I bought this book for my boyfriend along with a much more serious and and substantial book written for the Father-to-be. We became pregnant very unexpectedly and although we're excited and thrilled at the opportunity to welcome our child, it's not like we were/are exactly prepared so this book helped us laugh together and took the edge off of our stress.

I recommend this book in conjunction with a much more informative selection as a gift set.

Neat book, however it arrived damaged or in very used condition. Customer support did not respond to several emails.
