Product Description THE FASTEST, MOST CONVENIENT REFERENCE BOOK FOR CROSSWORD FANS AND PUZZLE CREATORS -- FROM BEGINNERS TO EXPERTSCompiled by crossword puzzle expert Jane Shaw Whitfield and the editors of Webster's New World , this splendid new volume is specially designed to help you find the word you want -- FAST! Unlike some other puzzle dictionaries, this one is more than just a simple listing of words of six letters or fewer, with no clues to meaning. This is a dictionary of terms actually found in a survey of thousands of puzzles. Here are words of two to fifteen or more letters, as well as phrases and compounds of two or more words -- just what you need to solve even the most challenging puzzles!

Webster's New World Crossword Puzzle Dictionary March 22, 2006 I enjoy using this book while doing crossword puzzles because it is most complete. I have used this book for years and have yet to find one better. My first edition has woren out and I am using my second edition and have just purchased another for my friend who is only beginning to do crosswords. If there is one better I would be most interested in it.

I am now in the process of wearing out my third copy of Webster's Crossword Dictionary. If you do the New York Times puzzle or the Atlantic Monthly or the Harper's puzzles, you'll find this dictionary the most helpful, particularly useful when you are only interested in possibilities of a certain number of letters.
