5 out of 5 stars about time   November 29, 2008
I've had this soundtrack for a while now. Ever since the Serenity soundtrack came out I had been circling the racks like a vulture hoping for the show to get it's due.

One of the most common complaint's is that these aren't the full musical pieces. And it's true, they're not. But they're like they were in the show. Unfortunately, because Firefly is getting old for a series, we probably won't get full versions until the 15th anniversary or something. Considering that they put out things like the Survivor TV-series soundtrack, I think we're lucky to get this.

The mixture of country or mountain music with more traditional sci-fi music is a unique and clever one, to be sure. I always liked how each piece of music was specifically designed for each character, including the ship, and how each piece moved seamlessly from one to the other. Very well done.

Even though it leaves me wanting more, I'm very happy they came out with a soundtrack for one of the greatest sci-fi shows of all time.

5 out of 5 stars A Very Solid Compilation!   April 12, 2008
I am such a fan of Firefly, I had to have this for my collection. It's a very fine piece of work. The music included puts you in the show! I have watched the entire series and Serenity The Movie over and over, and this cd does it justice.

3 out of 5 stars Not as good as I wanted it to be   March 31, 2008

With soundtracks, rather than short cues lifted straight from the show or movie, I usually prefer the musical cues to be compiled or otherwise strung together to make much longer overture-type musical pieces. Such provides a richer overall listening experience in many cases. So, its very difficult that I say -- since I love "Firefly" and Greg Edmondson's musical score -- that with this CD, the tracks end too soon -- just as you're getting into the mood of the music. I'd have rather heard longer variations of one theme or another strung together, than say, the part where such-and-such happens in episode 5, standing pretty much alone. I guess I shouldn't complain, since we're very lucky that this CD was even produced for such a short-run TV show.

5 out of 5 stars Firefly   March 21, 2008
This is a great soundtrack. it really puts me in the mood to watch Firefly. As I'm listening to the music I can picture this happening in the show.
Great buy!!!
