Product Description
The ME-50 Guitar Multiple Effects is a floor-based multi-effects processor built with the ruggedness and simplicity of a stompbox. Designed to work with your amplifier, the ME-50 focuses on killer multi-effects (like COSM overdrive and distortion) rather than amp modeling. And dialing in your tone is easy, thanks to dedicated knobs for each effect section, three footswitches and a built-in expression pedal. So if you want great-sounding effects without all the menu surfing, the ME-50 is everything you need. 3 footswitches for switching effects on and off with a single stomp Onboard expression pedal pre-routed to 6 modulation options or volume Rugged metal case with clear panel layout Dimensions - Width 15-1/8 inches, Depth 8-7/8 inches, Height 4-1/16 inches Weight 7 lbs.

5 out of 5 stars The Best Boss Multi-Effect Pedal Available   October 27, 2008
I bought one of these not too long ago and I have been very impressed with it. I did some research on it and have found out one reason it sounds so good is because it's 24-bit. I only use a light amount of effects. I use the delay and sometimes the distortion on this unit. The ME-50 has a ton of distortion tones that you can setup to your liking and the same with modulation and delay. I previously had a lot of pedals hooked up in my chain like delays, distortions, compressors, etc., but the ME-50 eliminates a lot of room on the ground, which is nice. I am not impressed with Boss' reverb and never have been, but the beauty is you don't have to use the reverb on the unit. I run a Lexicon MPX-110 for my reverb and I believe this is something that Lexicon excels in.

This unit is also built like a tank which I would expect nothing less from Boss. I would seriously think about getting one of these instead of forking over more more for a Boss GT-10.

4 out of 5 stars Excellent for Live Play through house PA   October 9, 2008
Got this unit and compared side-by-side with Line 6's Floor POD Plus for use through the PA system at my church. I was woried that the Amp Modeling function would not be very good, but I was pleasantly wrong. The line-out function into the house PA provides excellent sound. The amp-modeling is transparent to the user, and you can focus on your effects while the ME-50 manages the amp modeling to automatically give a good sound.

The metal housing and heavy duty knobs were also far superior to the Line 6 Unit. In fairness, this unit costs more than the Line 6.

Only downside is that you cannot switch thru the 10 saved sound banks with your foot, so you can only have 3 pedal settings plus whatever has been manually set for 4 settings during a song. Conversely the Line 6 provides extra pedals to allow switching sound banks on the fly. This is a minor issue for me, however, since I only use a few saved settings.

5 out of 5 stars Simplicity itself...   May 14, 2008
I decided to simplify my effects rig by buying this pedalboard. I had a Boss chorus, delay, overdrive, and tuner in my chain. I was considering adding reverb and compressor pedals. I was running out of power taps and I was about ready to buy the 6 slot Roland pedal case.

Enter the ME-50. It had all the effects I already had, a tuner, AND the effects I was looking into buying. It also would save me from spending another $140.00 on the pedal case. The sound was as good as my stand-alone Boss pedals with a bit of tweaking.

Works on my Fender strat as well as my Larivee acoustic. I was expecting a power supply for $300.00, but it was not to be. Ah well, good enough...
