I don't normally use a dryer in warmer weather, so though I bought this dryer about a year ago, I got maybe 6 months' use out of it at best. I've been buying Conair dryers since I was a teenager and they always worked for *at least* a few years. I'll try another brand next time, though I'm not too optimistic that any of them are much good. I only wish I could find one that doesn't have the clunky 'Appliance Leakage Circuit Interrupter' type of plug because I think that's what generally fails with today's dryers.

just what I was looking for. Small, light, two speeds, has a nice loop to hang it, folds for traveling, and so on. Especially nice with the Amazon rewards coupon. It was shipped to my home at no charge.

The hair dryer is nicely compact and the price is great, but the dryer is very basic and "screams" like a hotel dryer. It only has the heat setting--no cold shot. I strongly believe it needs to come with the attachment that allows you to concentrate the flow. If it wasn't so loud and if it came with the concentrator attachment, then I wouldn't be considering returning it.
Conair 124A 1600 Watt Mini Hair Dryer August 31, 2008
The product works well - almost like my last ConAir 1600 watt mini, with one exception. The fan control has been moved from the inside of the handle by the thumb, to the outside of the handle. This is definitely NOT user friendly - to change fan speed, you have to stop drying, turn the dryer, move the switch, turn the dryer, and resume drying. Buy the ConAir 1875 watt model instead! It has the fan control where it belongs.
The perfect dryer for international travel July 22, 2008

My daughter is using this dryer in Spain and reports that it has worked to her expectations. The 1600 Watt is the maximum for international use; many of her fellow students were unaware of that so their dryers have blown out. Hers is being borrowed constantly! This dryers is light and compact, perfect for traveling and is sturdy; it has not blown out and has done a beautiful job of drying her long, long hair!
