Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Every kitchen should have a heavyweight glass measuring cup with sufficient capacity for making pancake batter and broth for risotto (which can be heated in the microwave). This particular cup has a spout for easy pouring (essential for getting nice circular pancakes) and a lid so things can go into the fridge and stay fresh for later as needed.

5 out of 5 stars AWESOME for anyone who does alot of baking...   November 27, 2008

My mother had some older "batter bowls" and when one of her two ended up breaking, I replaced it with this. The quality is excellent! The glass is thick and having the lid is just wonderful. It makes storing any left over batter easy! I don't see how anyone who bakes can live without this. The handle makes it easy to stir or pour your ingredients without making a horrible mess. Just a must-have necessity for your kitchen. You too, won't know how you got along before without it!

Love this bowl. It is used for many things in my kitchen. The cover it great to keep things in the refrigerator.

Before you buy this item, know that if the cover is ever damaged in use and is no longer functional, Anchor Hocking will not supply a replacement. Their response: "Unfortunately, the plastic storageware covers for our ovenware pieces can only be purchased as a set (not sold separately) from a retail established business." I, for one, will only buy PYREX in the future.

5 out of 5 stars The hardest working bowl in the kitchen.   March 15, 2005

My two favorite food preparation vessels are the unlined copper bowl my wife gave me as a Christmas present, and this Anchor Hocking batter bowl. When we get together in the kitchen, you just know that a batch of Belgian waffles, pancakes or cornbread is on the way.

The bowl is made from thick-walled oven and microwave safe glass and includes a cover for use in the refrigerator or microwave oven. The cover also doubles as a bowl rest, catching any dribbles of batter before they hit the countertop. The sloping sides help you get a hand mixer's beaters into every drop of your batter and the handle provides rock-steady control when you pour. The molded-in quantity markings allow it to do double-duty as a 2-quart measuring cup in half-cup increments. The clincher, of course, is that the bowl and cover go right into the dishwasher after the last waffle is baked.
