Le Creuset December 23, 2008 Love Le Creuset pots. We own several. Nothing like it for beans, stews, brown rice and baking in the oven. They are quite pricey but hold up for decades if properly cared for. Hear there are knock-offs from Rachel Ray and Martha Stewart. Much less eapensive but haven't tried any.
Overpriced and not guaranteed September 22, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Very expensive. Very heavy. Enamel does not last. Doesn't honor guarantee. Bad customer service. We have bought lots of Le Creuset cookware over the years. We have given lots of Le Creuset as presents- to our kids, to in-laws, to close friends. About eight years ago one of the daughters gave us a 24cm. Dutch oven. This year the enamel on the bottom started peeling. No problem, my wife said. Creuset will honor their 30 year warranty. We mailed the heavy pot back- for 40 Euros since we were in Ireland at the time. Le Creuset responded by telling us that there was no warranty before 2000. But, we said, we, and our daughters, had over 30 years of loyalty to Creuset. The rep said that she'd send us a new one- if we paid 73. But, my wife said, a new one from Amazon is only 90 and it cost us 40 Euros to send the old pot back to you. Then they offered us a new one, their choice of color, for 60. Or they'd send back the old one, which is the option we chose. We will never buy Le Creuset again. For some reason Amazon cleared out the negative La Creuset reviews. This is disappointing. The La Creuset legend far surpasses the actual value of the product, which is now a status symbol rather a useful kitchen tool. The moral: Creuset does not last forever, their customer service is insultingly unresponsive, and they do not honor customer loyalty. To be avoided.
Wonderful product August 9, 2008 This French Oven is just the right size for the two of us. I can fill it halfway for a typical meal, or make a double recipe in order to freeze some for another time. It browns things well, goes easily from stove-top to oven, holds the heat in during long simmering, cleans up quickly with a little soak in warm water, and looks great. I have owned some other products from Le Creuset, and they never disappoint.

Use It Constantly March 3, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I received this as part of a set from my husband, who knew I'd been drooling over the Le Creuset lineup for years now. If you're like me and can't visualize 3 1/2 quarts, the pot is about 8 1/2" in diameter and just under 4" deep. I use this all the time and couldn't be happier - food cooks evenly and stays plenty hot enough for second helpings, and it all cleans up with soap and water. The handles on the sides do get hot so be careful with those. The color on mine is a little brighter than I'd expected but the gradation is really pretty. Overall, this is a fantastic piece that should last approximately forever and I love it.
Absolutely Love It! December 28, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Forget the price, I know it's expensive, and it's something you don't have to have. Who cares! It's Le Creuset! It's an amazing pot, the only pot I own that I can cook rice in successfully. I think it's amazing that it can go from stovetop to oven to freezer, and it's also dishwasher safe. It makes life so much more easier. The only thing I regret is I wish I would have picked out a larger pot for our family of four. However, I would not trade this pot for anything now. It looks wonderful on the stovetop and it's great to warm up any leftovers that we do have, as I tend to cook in bulk. Did I mention how nice it looks on your stovetop?
