Amazon.com Review This traditional wooden rolling pin flattens pastry and pizza doughs quickly and smoothly, but doesn't take up as much storage space as a large pin. Its barrel is 9-3/4 inches long and 2-1/2 inches in diameter, and has ball bearings to ensure smooth rolling with minimal effort. The barrel is unfinished, so flour can fill in the grain during repeated use, creating a nonstick surface. A wood rolling pin should be wiped clean with a damp cloth and dried. --Fred Brack

worth the money November 21, 2007 This product was very satisfactory. It is very well made, like something you would have gotten years ago before all the plastic and junk stuff started coming out. When it says wooden rolling pin, it means wooden!
bearing issue October 12, 2003 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This rolling pin appeared to be very workable, unfortunatly what is described as "Ball-bearing action" does not mean true Ball-bearing construction, the interior is lined with teflon.
nice December 7, 2002 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
this rolling pin does a great job with everything. Pasta, pastry, biscuits, etc. It's heavy enough to do a big job without having to go to the commercial size stuff. For family kitchens it's perfect.
Excellent Wooden Rolling Pin March 24, 2002 19 out of 20 found this review helpful
Kaiser has been a German manufacter of high-quality commercial bakeware since 1919. For home patisserie chefs, their La Forme line is considered to be state-of-the-art bakeware. I've been fortunate to collect several pieces, including springform pans and some specialty bakeware. Each La Forme pan comes packaged in a gift box. For several years now, I've been buying most of my new bakeware on the Internet. When I decided to buy a new wooden rolling pin, I ordered one from a well-known Manhattan commerical restaurant supply. I had to send it back because it was too large and too heavy for me to use. Then I ordered this Kaiser wooden rolling pin, which has the perfect size and weight for me to use when rolling out pie, cookie, biscuit, and pizza doughs. Like all quality rolling pins, it has ball-bearing construction so that doughs roll out evenly. I lightly flour my wooden baking board and rub some on the rolling pin, too, so that the dough won't stick to it when I am making pizza crust. I have a stockinette knit tube that slips over the rolling pin when I use it for rolling out pie dough on my canvas pastry cloth. I rarely wash my wooden rolling pin with soap and water; I just wipe it off after each use with a damp dishcloth and allow it to air dry. Kaiser also makes a great kids' 4 inch wooden rolling pin, which can be purchased separately or as part of a kids' wood accessories set that includes a blending spoon, pastry brush, tasting spoon, and pastry cutter.
A Great Addition! December 14, 2001 2 out of 6 found this review helpful
