Amazon.com Review From KitchenAid's Gourmet Essentials line comes this cookware set made of hard-anodized aluminum. Durable, handsomely finished in matte charcoal gray, and known for its exceptional heat distribution and retention properties, hard-anodized cookware is a very popular choice for the home chef. KitchenAid embellishes these pots with stainless-steel handles, riveted for strength and wrapped with cushy, stay-cool silicone grips. The lids, made of break-resistant glass for optimum viewing, also feature silicone-wrapped handles, highly arched to enable easy grasping with a potholder or oven mitt. Both the pans and lids are oven-safe up to 400 degrees F. An excellent value, this 12-piece set consists of the most frequently used kitchen pots and pans and makes a great gift set. The two skillets, measuring 8 and 10 inches in diameter, handle everyday frying and sauteing needs, from eggs-over-easy to grilled cheese sandwiches to fish filets, then crepes for dessert. Three saucepans holding 1, 2, and 3 quarts let you boil a single egg, heat soup, and slow-cook a creamy risotto with wild mushrooms. The large 8-quart stockpot with two loop handles works admirably for family-sized batches of pasta, chili, soup, and corn-on-the-cob. Finally, the 12-inch covered saute pan with its helper handle tackles generous quantities of fried chicken, braised meats, stir-fries, and poached salmon. The nonstick finish releases food quickly and makes clean up by hand a snap. It's best to keep the nonstick cookware out of the dishwasher. KitchenAid covers the set with a one-year, hassle-free replacement warranty. --Ann Bieri What's in the Box 12-piece cookware set. 12 Piece Kitchenaid Cookware November 17, 2008 Love the quality of the cookware. Easy to cook with and cleanup is wonderful. My only minor disappointment is that they are somewhat smaller than my other cookware, but since there are only 2 of us it doesn't really matter.
"Hands on" review November 16, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I found the reviews for this cookware insightful, but with an item such as this, my wife and I wanted to see this product in person first. We went to our local Kohl's store and found this exact set on sale. The price was better on Amazon, so our intent was to handle the display set first and then purchase it online. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. I picked up the large fryer pan (with the lid) and the first thing I noticed was the flexing of the handle. If I chose to, I could have easily taken handle and it bent it 90 degrees, if not completely off, the pan itself. I believe this happened due to the two rivets (which hold the handle onto the pan) being so close together, combined with the rather thin sides of the pan. This was a deal breaker for us, period. Depending on what you cook, food can weigh a lot, and I was not comfortable with a handle that had that much flex. Overall, the set was nice, but this one issue was enough for us to say no. We are not going to pay more than $100 for a cookware set with handles like this set has.
We understand that the more you pay, the better quality you get. For cookware under $200, there will be some tradeoff's. However, regardless of their stated warranty on the quality, I was disappointed that the handles had any flex at all. It was unacceptable.
Depending on the sale price you get for this set, it could be a good value, but beware of the handles on this set, especially on the large fryers, where more stress is put on handle.

I love this pot set. I love to cook, its my hobby, so a sturdy, dependable, and yes stylish pot set is a must. And this one fits the description. They heat evenly and quickly. Nothing sticks to the bottom of them which makes cleaning a breeze. Note: One of the reviews I read mentioned the build up of grease on the bottom of the pots. Well as I have found this can be a problem with any pot set no matter how high-end. To prevent a major build up I regularly clean the bottom of my pots with Bar Keeper's Friend (Ajax & Comet work just as well). Wet the bottom of the pot, sprinkle the cleaner on, let sit for 1 or 2 minutes, and then lightly scrub it off with a sponge or rag. The good thing about these pot is that they don't scratch or discolor when you clean them this way like some other pots do. This is an all around Good Buy! I saw them just a few days ago for $219.00 and it was the 10 piece set. I purchased my 12 piece for 139.00 on this website. I hope you love it too!!!! Happy Cookin!!!!
great cookware November 14, 2008 I've had my cookware for two months now and I love itIt really is nonstick, it looks beautiful, and it was delivered much faster than I expected.
Great Set! November 10, 2008 I've had the set now for a couple of weeks and use them daily. As a KitchenAid fan already (I have a few small appliances and of course the stand mixer), I expected this set to be wonderful and it is! Very easy to clean, the handles do not get hot, and they're not too heavy. I do stack them for storage and I haven't noticed scratches and I DO NOT put them into the dishwasher - I ruined my Revere set that way, hence why I bought these. Also, I have glass top stove and have not noticed any scratching. Great set for the BRAND and Price! I recommend!
