Cheerfully uniting form and function, this roaster is a welcome addition to Kitchenaid's color-themed kitchen appliances and cook's tools. The roomy 18-1/2-inch rectangular shape features deep sides and large end handles covered in smooth, glossy porcelain that juxtaposes a clean white interior and richly toned exterior. The porcelain plays a dual role: it helps to promote even heat distribution and temperature retention while in the oven and also offers an attractive finish that makes a lovely presentation at the table. Around the rim of the roaster appear the edges of the solid steel core. This metal layer reinforces the roaster for strength and also heats quickly and uniformly, so there are no hot or cold spots. Perfect for medium- to large-sized cuts of meat or whole turkeys, the roaster comes with a removable stainless steel rack that elevates the meat and allows sauces and juices to drip to the bottom when basting. Both the pan and the rack go safely into the dishwasher.
