Cambridge 45-Piece Flatware set July 17, 2008
I am quite pleased with this set and especially for the excellent price. The soup spoons, however, are so large it is hard to fit them in your mouth.

As the other reviewer stated, this is a little bit larger and heavier than a standard set of flatware, but I, as a man, like a good heavier and thicker piece of eating utensil.
The spoons and forks certainly do not feel or look as though any hardened ice cream or tougher piece of meat will bend them. The pieces, in general, are about a half inch longer than a standard set and weigh just about twice as much.
They have an excellent feel and finish on them too. I was surprised when I first received the shipping carton because it had really been kicked around and smashed up quite a bit by UPS.
The contents inside the shipping box had broken through all of their paper wrappings and were scattered loose throughout the carton. But, upon closer examination of each piece, I did not find one scratch, bend or rub mark on any of the individual pieces, even though it seemed as though they had been bouncing around loose in the carton, and off of each other, during their journey clear across the entire United States.
The satin and chrome finish on the flatware was not marred in any way and just shouts quality. I deducted one star because of the condition of the box and the type of shipping hazards that it must have gone through.
The flatware set itself, even though it is clearly marked as Stainless that has been manufactured in China, is a top quality Five Star set, and just as good, if not better, as the stainless flatware set I purchased more than 18 years ago that had been made in Japan.
As I said when I started this review, I was surprised.

I bought this set as a housewarming gift for my father. I did not get to feel the weight and see the flatware set so, I was bit concerned. However, my father loved it! It is a nicely weighted set. It feels like you are holding a heavy duty piece when it in your hand. This set has a nice pattern too. The hostess set is definitely a nice bonus.
The one drawback to this gift is that the flatware pieces are huge. I do not think that they are made to fit in human mouths. The teaspoon is the size of a tablespoon in other sets. The fork tines are extremely long too. This is definitely not a good set to use with children.
Once you can wrap your mouth around this set then you will love it. The price is definitely a good value.
