Calphalon One Infused Anodized 8 1/2 quart Dutch Oven October 12, 2008 Great for baking and stove top cleans up stickons with a sinple wash cloth and dish soap. Used to make soup, spagetti sauce, and baked apples. Great with the low height, the best pan I have ever owned (50 years cooking).
Quality, Prompt, Good Price July 2, 2008 I returned a similar pan that was not nearly as heavy and durable as this. Yes, I had to add a few bucks to it, but it was well worth it!!! Amazon did GREAT, and EASY with the return/replacement!!! I was anticipating a problem, especially since the original one was a gift from someone.
My favorite pan June 2, 2008 I searched for a big wide pan that I could use to make my Paella. Although it is not really a Paella pan, it is perfect to fit lots of rice and seafood. I have used it whenever I have had a big dinner party and I want to make risotto, stews and big meals. It heats very evenly and is very easy to clean. I will definitely buy this brand in the future!
Worried about non stick....no need March 9, 2008 I have now used this pan several times both on the stove top and in the oven. I am very impressed. I was concerned about it not having the non stick surface that my commercial non stick calphalon. It is very easy to clean up and it cooks very well. The large size was also a concern. After receiving this pan and using it, the large size has not been a problem, in fact it is a plus. This is one you can buy with confidence.
Just what I was looking for March 6, 2008 I went to Williams Sonoma to buy a Dutch Oven. I left the store without buying one, because they were all VERY expensive. I went home and searched Amazon and found the Calphlon Dutch Oven for a good price. It is heavy like the ones and Wms. Sonoma. It is a huge pan. In fact, the size kind of surprise me. I made beef stew with 7 lbs. of beef stew meat, 6 large potatoes, and 8 carrots + onions, celery, etc. It held it all very nicely. The only negative is that the floured meat stuck to the pan while it was browning, even though I followed the instructions for not using cold meat right out of the frig. It cleaned up nicely after use, and the stuck on food mostly cooked off during braising of the stew.
