Amazon.com Review
This manual-style book instantly dives into Eckhart Tolle's principles of "living in the moment," which could be a jarring experience for readers who haven't read his preceding book, The Power of Now. For the initiated, though, this makes an excellent companion guide--rich in exercises and meditations to help readers get out of their minds so they can live more peacefully in their bodies. Sometimes it's hard to fathom what on earth Tolle is talking about: "To regain awareness of Being and to abide in that state of 'feeling-realization' is enlightenment." Be patient. All concepts will be revealed (or at least more carefully explained). Ultimately, Tolle leads readers into a new form of thinking (or actually not thinking) that erases the consuming habits of waiting, worrying, and being in fear. The first step is ending the "delusion of time." He asks, "Are you always trying to get somewhere other than where you are? ... Is most of your doing just a means to an end?" If so, Tolle has a book full of advice for you. As simplistic as this may sound, Tolle's work has spiritual merit and depth, especially for frantic Westerners who find their lives diminished by packed schedules and busy-ness. --Gail Hudson

Product Description
Eckhart Tolle is rapidly emerging as one of the world's most inspiring spiritual teachers, sharing the enlightenment he himself experienced after a startling personal transformation. His views go beyond any particular religion, doctrine, or guru. This book extracts the essence from his teachings in The Power of Now, showing us how to free ourselves from "enslavement to the mind." The aim is to be able to enter into and sustain an awakened state of consciousness throughout everyday life. Through meditations and simple techniques, Eckhart shows us how to quiet our thoughts, see the world in the present moment, and find a path to "a life of grace, ease, and lightness."

1 out of 5 stars Practicing The Power of Now   November 22, 2008

I like being able to find a specific excerpt in this book rather than looking in The Power of Now. It is much easier for me to do this. I find myself saying over and over that all we have is NOW. Eckhart Tolle is my favorite author.

4 out of 5 stars You might like these books   November 21, 2008
If you are a deep material reader then you may really enjoy Rumi & Self Psychology (Psychology of Tranquility) and also another book
Sara's Therapy: A Way to Purity. These books are unique, easy to read, full of information, and just amazing; and you can not put them down.

5 out of 5 stars Much Easier to Understand than "The Power of Now"   November 19, 2008
This is the best way to understand The Power of Now. I recommend it very highly.

Why, you ask?

I read Eckhart's original book, The Power of Now, but I found it was not succinct enough for me. There are many anecdotes and asides which I found distracting.

Then I saw this book, which is an entirely different story. It's got only the essential info with lots of practical tips and suggestions to help you apply it all.

I had a similar situation with the book, A Course In Miracles, or AICM as it come to be known. I found it was too dense and hard to approach. Then I found the book, Gifts From a Course in Miracles. It had the essential info in small easy to digest bits and sections. I was able to absorb it's message easily. I love that book.

I also recommend a number of other excellent spiritual books. You can see them all in my list called "Spiritual Transformation & Transcendence - True Reality" here:

4 out of 5 stars 'Now' is the only place we ever are.   October 13, 2008
This Power of Now has removed the torture of many of the regrets of my past and fears of the future.

5 out of 5 stars Another spiritual inspiration.   August 7, 2008
This is a wonderful companion piece to "The Power of Now". Meditation is a great stress reliever. And not worrying about where you came from or where you are going is the key to enjoying the present moment. great book.
