I downloaded this free mp3 to check it out, and was suitably impressed to the extent of marking it 5 stars in my music collection. I like this a lot and am now checking out the album to see if i want to buy it.

5 out of 5 stars Unbelievable performance   May 27, 2008

Kathleen Edwards is the best female singer-songwriter on the music scene today. She may not be a household name, but this Canadian import writes incredible songs with unforgettable melodies. Her lyrics are very poignant as well. This Amazon Exclusive Version of the title track from "Asking For Flowers" is a stripped-down, acoustic masterpiece. I much prefer this version over the album's original version (although they're both outstanding). If you've never experienced the music of Kathleen Edwards, what are you waiting for??? She's the best!

5 out of 5 stars better version than the cd   April 14, 2008

Kathleen Edwards is a songwriter who creates the kind of imagery that sticks with listeners long after the song is over. This song is no exception, but the Amazon version of "Asking for Flowers" feels more poignant than the album version. Edwards' voice is out front on this version, which pushes the lyrics to the forefront as well. Sometimes her voice seems muffled or lost in the production; this song's production makes me wish she would strip her song arrangements down to better frame her words. A terrific version!

Yes, Kathleen Edwards hits in on the head again with this lovely song - haunting lyrics, gorgeous melodies that typify her unique style. If you like Kathleen Edwards, you will really like this title song....
