 Worked great, long lasting November 11, 2008
Portable system worked great and sound quality was good. We would recommend this system.
 Not what I expected September 30, 2008

Good sound quality, but product lacks volume and bass. For such a heavy device, I expected a little more "punch" to the sound. For something called the "Block Rocker" you would expect it to be heard within the area of a block. It is marginally louder than the ipod docking station in my kitchen.

The iPod feature is great! The music is clear. The use of the microphone is slightly disappointing. The clarity and projection is not the best. If you are looking to use this system for announcements or presentations, think again.
 Dock speaker September 17, 2008
I purchased this as a gift for my husband to replace another speaker we had that didn't really work. We use it on our dock for music. It works great. We can hear it when we are swimming off the dock about 50 yards with lots of boat traffic going about 150 yards from our dock. We also used the speaker at my class reunion for music and as a P.A. system. I was able to hear the announcements from the speaker which was over 100 yards away while playing on the playground with lots of screaming kids around. It has crisp sound. It is easy to use. Our guests at the Lake can use it even when it is the first time they have been around it.
Used it for my wedding September 16, 2008
We bought the Ion Ipod system for our destination wedding. We made our own, well timed, Ipod playlist and then used this system in place of a DJ. The microphone was perfect for our speeches and for making announcements at the reception. We set it up on a table and it was perfect. It was very loud, and did not distort. It was the best investment we made for our wedding since we also used it for our beach ceremony. Our guitarist plugged directly into it for our ceremony music, which was even loud enough to be heard over the waves. We loved it so much we even bought one as a gift. It is worth the money!!!
