I'm a bit paranoid about my guitars. While I'm not a wealthy man, I've managed to get my hands on a few very nice custom instruments. If I leave them locked away in their traveling cases, they're safe but inaccessible.
Having an instrument in easy reach, makes it much more likely you'll pick up the instrument and use it. The problem is how to keep the guitar handy, without subjecting it to damage. If you have no pets or small children, you might try a floor stand. Personally, I'm a klutz and would probably trip over it at night, so hanging up on a wall makes more sense, and gets it out of harms way. I've looked at quite a few wall hangers. Most of them are plastic, or have cheap mounting plates, or various little gimmicks. This is a very simple steel hook that inserts into a solid cast base. It's strong and dependable. The hooks hold my instruments securely, and the padding insures the finish isn't marred. They're the best I've found, and I won't trust anything less with my babies.
The manufacturer isn't kidding about neck width. The narrow fits a standard six string like a glove. If you play a wide-format neck like a 12 string or a classical, order this model. Because it's built from very heavy steel, you're not going to just "bend it to fit".
