Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars CAUTION: Possibly contains gluten!   December 1, 2008
All of the Bob's Red Mill products are great, but it's worth noting that while this shows up on a gluten-free search on Amazon the BRM company makes *no* claim that this product is gluten-free and in fact it probably isn't.

They have two facilities, one of which processes only products without wheat or gluten. If this was processed there, it would say that it was gluten-free (as their gluten-free rolled oats do); since it doesn't say so it's almost certain that it's processed on the same equipment that they use for wheat products so there can easily be cross-contamination.

This is a different kind of oatmeal, but very tasty. You can cook it to whatever thickness you prefer. It sticks to your ribs!

5 out of 5 stars Scots know how to blow their oats to bits   November 16, 2008
These are a great whole grain for healthy eating, and they taste great too. My wife likes them with butter and salt but I like 'em sweet with [whatever]. Usually just brown sugar but you could be use a more healthy sweetener or some berries. I find these oats more pleasing than "Irish steel-cut" styles where the whole oat is just cut in two. These oats are like blasted to bits with a bomb.. ok I think stone ground.. but I like to exaggerate that angry Scots blew them to bits. We subscribed to this product, we like it so well. Recommendations: Buy, Eat.

4 out of 5 stars Different from American oatmeal   October 31, 2008
Scottish oatmeal has a different texture from conventional oatmeal. Its a little like Cream of Wheat. Flavor is excellent and I really like the texture of the cooked product. I prefer it to regular oatmeal.

Organic Scottish oatmeal is an excellent breakfast. Add organic maple syrup, grade B, add butter and breakfast is ready.
