This oatmeal is not readily available in the supermarket. Although one has to purchase 6 boxes at a time if you have the room to store them it is a great bargain. The flavor (although not quite as great as the steel cut oatmeal) is fabulous. The maple & brown sugar is delicious. I've also had the cinnamon roll and that is wonderful, too. The convenience is unmatched. I like my oatmeal a bit less "wet" than the instructions call for so instead of 2/3 cup water I use 1/2. Two minutes in the microwave and you have a wonderful, filling breakfast. And no sugar, with ZERO aftertaste!

I love McCann's instant oatmeal! It's a welcome change from the original which takes 30 minutes to cook and it tastes just as good. When I want a little change I mix applesauce into the mixture before I put it in the microwave and it's so delicious. You can also add pureed peaches, apricots, and mashed bananas.

If you're a diabetic or looking for ways to lower your carbs, I highly recommend McCann's! As a diabetic myself, I'm always on the hunt for new and tasty foods that will be easy on my sugar. I was thrilled to find McCann's Instant Sugar Free Maple & Brown Sugar oatmeat at a local Fresh Market .. even more thrilled to find that it has 15 net grams of carbs and 100 calories per package ... and that it really does taste great! I've now taken to eating it as a snack during the day as well since it's so filling. Yum!
 Suga Free Oatmeal a Flop! May 26, 2008
This oatmeal has an aftertaste of sacharin. I would never purchase this again. I would recommmend all McCann's regular oatmeals.

This stuff is good! Especially the flavored varieties that have no sugar added. It's difficult for diabetics to find good quality like this in any food that isn't loaded with all the wrong kinds of sugar. So kudos to McCann!
